My trip in Guangzhou & Shenzhen

I spent my past 1 week in Shenzhen in Guangzhou. Was there with my 2 friends and my niece Amy. It was a really nice trip there. My cousin sister, Cheng paid for all our accomodation, transport and food. We really appreciate it so much. We hope to be able to treat you the same when you and Amy is here in Penang.

1st day (16 Nov 08)

We took the last flight from Penang to KL and slept at McDonalds for the night. Met Soon Hueng there at LCCT and waited together for the first flight in the morning. It was a really long 6hrs wait for the next flight.

2nd day (17 Nov 08)

Met up with Cheng chey and Fong Chey. They drove us to Shenzhen the same day we arrived. The loading bay at the airport was super expensive. It cost Fong chey RMB 80 for a 8 minutes stop over. Gosh! We went to Foxcom (a taiwanese company) in Shenzhen to meet with our ex-colleague, Phang. He is already there for almost a year now. We pick him up and check into HOME INN hotel which is in the city. It is about 20-30minutes drive from Foxcom. We have a double flavoured steamboat. “Mah lat and Cheng tong”. After that we were off for some local Shenzhen shopping. We were so tired when we reach the hotel. Phang went back after abot 2-3hrs with us. At the hotel, Cheng Chey took us to the nearby massage parlour for leg massage. It was good but then it was painful at certain points. It only cost us RMB 25/ each. So cheap!…

 3rd day(18 Nov 08)

We woke up and got ready and went downstairs to buy some bread from the bakery next to the hotel. We went back to our room and Cheng Chey came over to ask us to go for dim sum down the road so we followed. The food served was very simple. We also ordered a western breasfast set with 2 sunny side up eggs. After breakfast we went back to the hotel to checkout and head for Windows of the World, a famous tourist spot in Shenzhen. There was a big shopping mall and a big theme park accross the street but we stayed on this side. It is about a few acres big. We spent about 4 hrs in there and only managed to finish almost half the tourist spots there. We took a monorail around those places didn’t walk too. My legs we so tired. We slept the whole journey back to Guangzhou. Finally arrived at the a restaurant behind the old Bai Yun Airport. The serve very good food. Hmm, let me see if I can find a photo for it…

4th day(19 Nov 08)

The weather was cold. We woke up and got ready. Ah po was ready. Cheng Chey came to fetch us and we all went to Bai Yun San for breakfast. The ‘yau char kuai’ and soya bean drink was a prefect match. That was the best of all the dishes. Fong Yee also ordered pork meat ball. It tasted like rubber meatballs but it was tasty too.

Bai Yun San Tea House

After breakfast we walked over to Tai Yun Garden. It was a very big garden with lots of greenaries, flowers and nice scenaries. After that, was shopping in Guangzhou bazaars.
